About Me

Amir Dallal

Product Leader & Solutions Architect

I'm a product leader with a track record of building connected platforms from zero to enterprise scale - across smart home devices, commercial buildings, and IoT ecosystems. I started close to the hardware and field reality (QA, systems engineering, demos, integrations) and moved up the stack into product leadership without losing technical fluency. That combination lets me build products that survive contact with real buildings, real users, real installers, and messy data.

At Toggled iQ, I built an AI-powered semantic normalization engine that reduced site onboarding from days to hours, supported a DOE pilot with Lawrence Berkeley National Lab that achieved up to 75% energy reduction, and scaled a platform to 1,000+ buildings and 40,000+ connected devices - doubling SaaS revenue year over year. I've navigated three company acquisitions (Followap/Neustar, Jungo/Cisco, CANDI/Altair/Siemens), which means I've learned to deliver in both the chaos of a startup and the complexity of a global enterprise.

Outside of work, I'm a builder. I've shipped multiple zero-to-one product builds - including Human Nature (a live TCM herbal e-commerce platform taking real orders), Orchard (a multi-tenant DTC storefront platform with an autonomous PM + dev-lead operating model), and Besteas (a ritual-focused specialty tea storefront). I run a personal smart home spanning 60+ devices from 15+ vendors inside a historic Oregon home, managed a 24-unit apartment building with connected technology, and qualified as an Airbnb Superhost. I build personal AI tools using the OpenAI and Anthropic APIs. Sustainability and green technology are a personal passion - from the DOE-validated energy pilot at work to how I think about efficiency in my own home.

The thread through all of it is simple. I love a good challenge, I love learning a field I don't know yet, and I love supporting small businesses, which is why I also build for them independently.

Beyond Work

I'm happily married to Bess - we met at my sister's coffee shop called "Hive," which I helped her start and operate. Our daughter Miele (9) is named after the Italian word for honey, a nod to where it all began. In Hebrew, my mother tongue, it also means "from God."

Together, Bess and I designed and built a tiny house from scratch on our property in Oregon City, just outside Portland, nestled by sequoia trees - walkable to main street, but it feels like you're deep in nature. We've been Superhosts for the past three years.

I cook dinner daily and love every cuisine. Twice a week at 5:30 AM during the cold months, I'm in the Clackamas River with my gym crew for a cold plunge. I love basketball, and I'm currently training for my first sprint triathlon with friends. I'm also learning Spanish.

When I'm not building products or jumping in rivers, I'm making things with my hands. Stained glass, woodworking, hand weaving - I pick up new crafts as I go. My favorite project so far was hand-weaving chunky yarn blankets for every member of my family as Christmas gifts.
